Four dead in Argentina mudslide
阿根廷泥石流導致4人死亡
A mudslide in Argentina's El Rodeo town in the northwest buried homes, killing four people, including two children. Two hundred residents fled the area, and some are missing. Heavy rains caused a river to swell, and rocks the size of cars rolled down and slammed onto buildings. One of them was a hostel accomodating tourists visiting a local festival. Roads to El Rodeo have been blocked. The town has lost power, and is running out of provisions.

Blast in Egypt on uprising anniversary

A bomb explodes near a police academy in Cairo on Saturday (January 25), as Egyptians prepare to celebrate the third anniversary of the uprising that ousted Hosni Mubarak. One person was wounded. The blast follows a wave of deadly bomb attacks on Friday (January 24) that targeted police. They raise fears that an Islamist insurgency is gaining momentum. An al-Qaeda inspired group has claimed responsibility for Friday's bombings. Since President Mohammed Mursi was toppled by the army last July, militants based in the Sinai have intensified their activities, killing hundreds of troops. Tahrir Square was sealed off on Saturday. Police and army were deployed heavily around Cairo, anticipating more violence. Supporters of army chief Abdel Fattah al-Sisi have begun to gather.

Thai protesters march, after election ruling
泰國大選推遲 抗議者游行
Thousands of Thai protesters marched in Bangkok on Saturday (January 25), after a court ruled that the general election may be postponed. Bangkok is under a 60-day state of emergency, but it has not stopped protesters from trying to force the prime minister to quit. The Election Commission sought court approval to postpone the polls, saying they may not be successful due to the tension. Protest leaders have repeatedly rejected the February 2 vote.

The Election Commission must agree with the government on a new polling date for it to be postponed. But the government is refusing to delay elections.
