In Berlin, they're soaking up the sun ahead and enjoying some time outdoors ahead of a weekend, weather experts warn will bring sizzling heat.

Experts are forecasting a heatwave with record high temperatures in the neighborhood of 104 degrees Fahrenheit, 40 degrees Celsius, They're urging locals to limit their time in the sun and stay hydrated. In the capital, the temperatures is already in the high 80s or low 30s Celsius and local hospitals says they've seen a rise in weather related problems. In addition to heat, thunderstorms are also expected.

As Spanish police try to determine why a train derailed leaving at least 80 people dead, some of those involved in the rescue have been speaking out. Firefighters cancelled a strike to help with the rescue after the high speed train crashed and caught fire on Wednesday (July 24) night. Some 94 people were injured. Commander Jose Ramos is from the Santiago Fire Brigade.

Spain's King Juan Carlos visited the injured in hospital and called on the nation to support the victims. The driver of the train is currently under police guard and is expected to be questioned over the incident.

In Cairo, dueling protests -- there were supporters of Mohamed Mursi and supporters of the military operation that drove the Egyptian leader from office. Anger from the pro-Mursi camp has been directed at Army Chief Abel Fatal al-Sisi who many consider a traitor.

Many in this crowd, which is being closely watched by the military (helicopter), want to see the democratically elected Mursi reinstated. Particularly galling to them was Sisi's recent call for mass demonstrations in 30 cities. So far, two people have been killed in Alexandria and dozens injured. The ousted Egyptian president is reportedly being investigated for murder.
