Vanity Fair releases best dressed list

Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, made Vanity Fair's best dressed list for the fourth time since 2008, in an endorsement of her style choices leading up to the birth of her first child last week. This year's list, which does not rank its chosen style setters, includes actress Kerry Washington and singers Justin Timberlake and Beyonce. The magazine also praised New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, and his wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen. Actress Charlize Theron and Brooke Shields were among the Hollywood notables, along with former Spice Girl and fashion designer Victoria Beckham and Sweden's Princess Madeleine, who wore a Valentino ivory silk organdy and Chantilly lace gown for her 2013 wedding in Stockholm. The full list appears on Vanity Fair's website and will be published in the September issue of the magazine.

Argentina crackdown on sleeping train conductors

Security cameras captured shocking videos of Argentinian train conductors sleeping, reading books and on their mobile phones while behind the wheel. Authorities released the videos after investigation into the Buenos Aires' tragedy-prone rail system. Announcing a crackdown, Transport Minister Florencio Randazzo said the drivers must now pass physical tests to ensure they do not fall asleep at the wheel. They also have to take new sets of exams that include an additional 100 hours of training.

(Spanish) MINISTER OF INTERIOR AND TRANSPORTATION FLORENCIO RANDAZZO SAYING: "We are adding to the alert control system a blood-oxygen level study that is carried out at the moment and it works to determine if the person is predisposed to falling asleep. The results are instantaneous. We are also going to implement alerts for both medical and technical issues. The alerts have to do with alcohol and drugs." Officials said those conductors caught on tape have been fired or disciplined. The rail network has been criticised in recent years for its poor conditions and lack of investment in staff and infrastructure, leading to many deadly accidents.

Air strikes on Douma, U.N. to send in chemical weapons investigators

Dust and confusion in the aftermath of air strikes on the Syrian city of Douma in this latest video posted to a social media website who content Reuters cannot independently verify. While in Damascus --- Men, said to be Syrian rebels set their sites on a military tank --- the body of a soldier can be seen nearby. Fighting in Syria shows no signs of letting up and on Wednesday -- the United Nations confirmed plans to deploy teams to three locations inside the country to investigate reports about the use of chemicals weapons. Both sides have denied using chemical weapons.
