China, Russia to hold counter-terrorism drills

China and Russia will hold a joint counter-terrorism drills in southwest Russia’s Chelyabinsk Oblast from July 27 to August 15.
Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Geng Yansheng said at a monthly briefing on Thursday, that the two sides will send 1,500 troops to attend the code-named "Peace Mission 2013" drills. Chinese forces include planning and command panels, infantry and air force combat groups, and logistics support. They will be equipped with multiple armed vehicles, fighter jets, helicopters and weaponry.
Geng said there are three phases in the drills, including troop deployment, war planning and real combat exercises.
