一.contact：n. 接觸，聯系，熟人 v. (與)聯系，(與)接觸 adj. 接觸的
【詞義辨析】
contact, touch,
contact: 強調緊密接觸的兩個物體之間的相互關系。也可用作比喻。
touch: 指具體意義“接觸”時，強調動作；表抽象意義時，側重“聯系”。
meet, encounter, confront, face, contact,
meet: 普通用詞，本義指雙方或多方從不同方向或相反方向作相對運動，最終相碰(遇)。
encounter: 通常指遇到困難或挫折，也指偶然或意外地相遇。
confront: 不可避免地，面對面地相遇，也指敢于正視困難或問題。
face: 側重雙方靜止地面對面，或指充滿勇氣、信心和決心去正視人或事。
contact: 多指通過書信、電話或直接會面和別人聯系，口語用詞。
【詞語用法】
1.contact作名詞時，既可作單數，也可作復數。英國人習慣用其單數形式，而美國人則習慣用其復數形式，表示“聯系”的意思。
I have had many contacts with my friends.
2.contact作動詞時，指“與……聯系”。
During my stay in the city I contacted several teachers.
3.表示“開始與某人接觸”時，可以用以下來兩種表達方式：come into contact with和come in contact with。前者比后者使用更頻繁；
4.make contact with 表示“與某人進行接觸”；
5.contact的幾個注意點：
有時可指“被聯系的人”。
I have got this information from one of my contacts, who used to live overseas.
contact還常有“跟（無線電臺）通信”或“跟……交戰”的意思。
【錯句舉例與錯句分析】
錯句：The painter lived more than a decade in Europe, where he could have contact with other cubists.
糾正：The painter lived more than a decade in Europe, where he could be in contact with other cubists.
翻譯：這個畫家在歐洲，這個可以同其他立體派畫家交流交往的地方生活十幾年了。
分析：表示“與人接觸”時，常用 be in contact with。
【例句用法】
1.The switches close the contacts and complete the circuit.
這些開關可使接觸器接通電流形成回路。
2.I have a useful contact in New York.
我在紐約有個有用的人可以聯系。
3.I finally made contact with her in Paris.
我終于在巴黎同她取得了聯系。
4.I've got a useful contact in the post office.
我在郵局有熟人。
5.For further information, contact your local agent.

二.take：v. 拿，取，執行，需要，接受，理解，修(課程)，花費，吃（喝），認為，搭乘 n. 拿取，取得物
【詞語用法】
1.take不可指“拿來”或“取來”，因此Please take your pen with you when you come tomorrow.該句是錯誤的，應將take改成bring；
2.take可指“買”。
I will take this pen.
我要買這支筆。
注意，表示“買”時，并不可以都是take。不可說I went into the shop to take a pen，要用buy；
3.用在指房屋的詞的前時，take通常指“租賃”。
They have taken the cottage for the winter.
他們為了過冬租賃個小屋。
4.在美國英語中，take in指“參觀”或“觀看”。
He has taken in several points of interest during the last week.
上周他參觀了不少名勝古跡。
5.take over指“接收”或“接管”時，可單用。
When will the new manager take over?
新的管理者什么時候接管？
6.英國人常用take ... in to dinner來表示“伴（女子）入席”，而美國人則習慣用take ... out to dinner；
7.take(n) to或took to是習慣用語，指“開始（后成為習慣)”。
He has taken to this good habit.
他開始養成這個好習慣。
【錯句舉例與錯句分析】
錯句：The government has taken action to suspend the Royal Mail's monopoly on delivering letters costing less than ￡ 1 because of the strike currently being taken by postal workers.
糾正：The government has taken action to suspend the Royal Mail's monopoly on delivering letters costing less than ￡ 1 because of the current strike by postal workers.
翻譯：由于郵局工人的罷工，皇家郵政壟斷了郵遞信件的市場，成本不超過一英鎊。政府已對這一現象采取了行動去暫停制止。
分析：沒有take a strike這樣的搭配用法。
【例句用法】
1.The machine takes its name from its inventor.
這機器的名字來自其發明者。
2.I passed him the rope and he took it.
我遞給他繩子，他接住了。
