【語法用法】
在美國，express company指“快遞公司”，相當于英國的carrier 或firm of carriers。 express在美國還可表示“快遞事業(yè)”或“由快遞公司運送”；
express同explicit兩者均有表示“明確的”的意思，但是express通常在表述清楚的時候帶著一定的目的性，去解釋或辯解。不同的是，explicit一般是在給出詳細的細節(jié)去作說明解釋，使觀點更清楚明確；
express oneself表示“表達自己的意思”，有時會在oneself后加as。
He expressed himself perfectly satisfied.
他表示自己很滿意。
【錯句舉例與錯句分析】
錯句: Even though she had been studying English for a long time before she came to Australia, it is still difficult for her to express her own ideas.
訂正: Even though she had been studying English for a long time before she came to Australia, it is still difficult for her to express herself.
翻譯: 盡管她在來澳洲前已經(jīng)學了很長一段時間的英語，但她還是很難將自己的想法表述清楚。
分析: express oneself是“表示自己的意思”的固定用語。

二.relieve:v.救濟, 減輕, 解除, 偷
【詞義辨析】
comfort, console, ease, soothe, relieve
這些動詞均含有“給人以幫助以減輕痛苦或悲傷”之意。
comfort普通用詞，指用語言或行動對痛苦者給予鼓勵、勇氣和力量，從而減輕其痛苦或悲傷，得到安慰。
console較正式用詞，側(cè)重緩和或減輕別人的痛苦或悲傷。
ease正式用詞，指減輕身心的痛苦、不安和憂慮。
soothe著重以安慰減輕悲痛、憤怒或激動，使人理智地平靜下來。也可指藥物等減輕病痛。
relieve指解除或緩解某人的病痛、擔心或憂慮等，常用被動態(tài)。
【例句用法】
The Government acted quickly to relieve the widespread distress caused by the earthquake.
地震造成大范圍的災(zāi)難,政府迅速采取行動賑濟災(zāi)民。
The route was designed to relieve traffic congestion.
