U.S. members of Congress arrive in Cuba

It's another step toward the restoration of diplomatic ties between the U.S. and Cuba as members of Congress arrive in the island nation. The delegates, made up of six Democrats, are here to meet with government officials. Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy stopped short of calling the warming relations between the former foes historic.

The lawmakers are expected to discuss normalizing relations and to work on building a "constructive relationship." They will return to the U.S. Monday.

German railway on high alert

A heightened state of security at German railway stations. Officers patrol the rails after authorities received warnings of possible militant attacks. Der Spiegel reported that intelligence services intercepted information from jihadist groups. For some passengers, there's nothing they can do.

The warnings come on the heels of an Islamist militant attack that killed 17 in France last week.. leaving Europe on edge. The German Interior Ministry offered no detail on any specific threat.

Bad weather cuts short Pope's visit to Tacloban

An approaching tropical storm cuts short the Pope's trip to Tacloban in the Philippines. He was there to comfort people in the area that was devastated more than a year ago by Typhoon Haiyan. Earlier at a cathedral, he broke the bad news.

The Pope's trip was cut back by four hours, but spirits remained high for the thousands who braved the bad weather to see him.

Pope Francis is heading back to Manila, where he'll stay for two days before going home to the Vatican.
