Protesters torch town hall over missing Mexican students

Protesters break into a town hall building in Iguala, angry over the fate of 43 students who went missing last month. Mexican authorities suspect the mayor and his wife to be behind the disappearances and have ordered their arrest. Investigators say the wife, Maria de los Angeles Pineda, has links with the notorious Guerreros Unidos gang, and the couple have gone into hiding.

(SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) MEXICO ATTORNEY GENERAL JESUS MURILLO KARAM, SAYING: "From the statements obtained, the investigations undertaken and the expert analysis done, what happened in Iguala on the 26th of September constitutes a violent repression by the Iguala and Cocula police directed by the criminal group, which has already been well established, with the intention to dissuade a group of people from attending a celebration event for the mayor and his wife that night in Iguala for the second (annual) report."

Thousands of protesters have been demanding justice and for the teachers-in-training to be found. So far, 52 people have been arrested -- including dozens of police suspected to be working with Guerreros Unidos. The case has sent shockwaves across Mexico and undermined President Enrique Pena Nieto's claims that Mexico is getting safer under his watch.

Supporters of both Martapura and Persis Solo accused the referee of being unfair. Soccer is wildly popular in Indonesia, and it's not uncommon for protests to break out over disputed results.

Two Israeli soldiers wounded in attack along Egypt border

Two Israeli troops were wounded after an attack along the country's border with Egypt. They were treated for injuries at a hospital in Beersheba. Israeli forces say the attack on the soldiers came from somewhere in Egypt --- and included both gunfire and anti-tank missiles. While Islamist militants are active throughout the peninsula bordering southern Israel, cross-border attacks are rare.
