Kerry says North Korea's leader reckless, ruthless
克里稱朝鮮領導人魯莽無情
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, who is in Vietnam to shore up a multi-national trade deal, made news over the weekend with his comments about another Asian country. In an interview with ABC's program "This Week," Kerry weighed in on North Korea's Kim Jong Un executing his powerful uncle: "It tells us a lot about, first of all, how ruthless and reckless he is,"Kerry said of Kim.
美國國務卿約翰·克里(John Kerry)正在越南鞏固多國貿易協定。周末期間，他對另外一個亞洲國家的評論使他成為新聞人物。在接受ABC節目《本周》采訪時，克里就朝鮮領導人金正恩處決其姑父的行為作出評論：“這告訴我們很多信息，首先，說明他非常魯莽，非常無情。”

To have a nuclear weapon potentially in the hands of somebody like Kim Jong Un just becomes even more unacceptable," Kerry told ABC.

(text slide) Kerry's remarks about North Korea were in stark contrast to his smooth visit to Vietnam. During the trip, Kerry had the chance to sail down the Mekong Delta --- a body of water he knew well from his days as a young officer during the Vietnam war.

Snow blasts US Northeast

Parts of the upper Northeastern U.S. got slammed with a major snowstorm over the weekend. Snowplows in Massachusetts and Connecticut were working overtime to clear snow and ice from the roads. Some people tried to push their cars out of snow drifts. The fast moving storm stretched from MIssouri to Maine and was responsible for almost 1,000 flight cancelations at airports from Chicago to New York. The winter weather is expected to continue through the early part of next week for much of the East Coast.

Syrian helicopter bomb raids kill dozens in Aleppo

Shattered glass crunches against the concrete. A haze of smoke drifts above the street. And dozens of Syrians scream through the commotion of another deadly attack. New amateur video appears to show the aftermath of an air raid in Aleppo. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says Syrian army helicopters dropped improvised barrel bombs onto the area. The attack killed 36 people, nearly half of them children, the observatory said. Charred wreckage and mangled metal from cars continued burning throughout the day. Reuters cannot independently verify the video, which was posted on a social media website. Elsewhere in Aleppo, bulldozers could be seen removing debris from destroyed neighborhoods. The attack comes as government forces in recent weeks have driven rebel fighters back from towns to Aleppo's southeast.
