Pilot alleges passenger "fell" from plane
飛行員宣稱乘客從飛機上墜落
What happened to a male passenger onboard this plane in southern Florida? That is the question officials are asking a day after its pilot alerted authorities that someone had fallen from his plane.
佛羅里達南部這架飛機上的一名男性乘客到底發(fā)生了什么事？這也是一名飛行員警告當局有人從他飛機上墜落一天之后警方的問題。
PILOT: "Mayday, mayday, mayday. I have a door ajar and I'm heading to Tamiami."

AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER: "You have a door open. Is that what you're saying?" PILOT: "I have a door ajar and a passenger that fell down. He opened the back door and he just fell down the plane."

The Mayday call - made while the plane was eight miles from Florida shoreline - prompted an exhaustive search of the area by boat and helicopters.

SOUNDBITE: Lt. John Jenkins with Miami-Dade Police "It's reasonable, anybody that falls from an aircraft without a parachute turns into a recovery effort and not a search and rescue." Police are now investigating the incident as a possible crime.

Brush fire rages in New York

This brush fire is just 30 miles outside of New York City. Firefighters are working to contain the blaze along the ridgeline in Rockland Country. The flames, which started on Thursday, are closing in on several neighborhoods.

SOUNDBITE: Unidentified man saying: "The houses up there, the houses down here we're lucky we got hydrants but everything up there, there' no hydrants so it's all gonna be shuttles, tanker trucks coming in and dropping off water. Up here now the concern is that it's gonna jump the road and get into the neighborhood." So far, no injuries have been reported.

Police shoot armed man inside Wisconsin Children's Hospital

Sheriff's deputies surround Children's Hospital of Wisconsin on Thursday after shots are fired inside. The hospital was placed on lockdown after Milwaukee police officers tried to serve a felony warrant on a suspect who was spotted in the hospital's neo-natal unit.
周四，威斯康星州兒童醫(yī)院內(nèi)發(fā)生槍擊事件后，地方治安官辦公室的警官將這里包圍起來。有人在醫(yī)院新生兒科發(fā)現(xiàn)一名嫌疑人，密爾沃基警方試圖執(zhí)行重罪令，醫(yī)院被戒嚴。
SOUNDBITE: MILWAUKEE COUNTY SHERIFF DAVID CLARKE, SAYING: "The officers identified the individual who was holding a baby at the time, they informed him after identifying he was under arrest. He put the baby down and appeared to want to cooperate with being taken into custody. He then fled down the hallway and while fleeing, produced a handgun."

Police shot the armed suspect and took him into custody. The suspect was wanted on a warrant for felony possession of a firearm. No one else was hurt in the shooting, including the baby, the baby's mother or hospital staff.
警方開槍擊中武裝嫌疑人，將他逮捕。嫌疑人因持有火器的重罪被通緝。無人在槍擊事件中受傷，包括嬰兒，嬰兒的母親和醫(yī)院職員。
SOUNDBITE: MILWAUKEE COUNTY SHERIFF DAVID CLARKE, SAYING: "This is not a situation where a guy came here with a gun looking to shoot somebody."

The sheriff would not comment on whether shots were fired inside the neo-natal unit. But authorities will investigate if the incident was handled properly.
