劇情聯(lián)播：

Rochester心中產(chǎn)生了對Jane的好感，向Jane吐露他心中的痛楚。Jane并非去一味地奉承主人的想法，而是袒露自己的觀點，這使得Rochester把心中的想法吐露得越來越多。

Rochester: I envy you.

Rochester: 我很羨慕你。

Jane: How? Your openness, your unpolluted mind.

Jane: 羨慕我什么？我羨慕你直率的性格和純凈的思想。

Rochester: When I was your age, fate dealt me a blow. And since happiness's denied me, I've a right to get pleasure in its stead. And I will get it, cost what it may.

Rochester: 我像你這么大的時候，命運給了我狠狠一擊。 既然幸福與我無緣，  我就有權(quán)換種方式享受人生，我會不惜任何代價去享樂。

Jane: Then you'll degenerate still more.

Jane: 這樣你會墮落得更深。

Rochester: But, Miss Eyre, if the pleasure I was seeking was sweet and fresh, if it was an inspiration, if it wore the robes of an angel of light, what then?

Rochester: 但是，Eyre小姐，如果我所追求的愉悅甜美而清新，如果它能啟迪人心，如果它身披光明天使的長袍，那又該如何呢？

Jane: To speak truth, sir, I don't understand you at all. I fear the conversation has got out of my depth.

Jane: 先生，說實話，我聽不懂您說什么，恐怕這談話已經(jīng)超出我的理解范圍。

Rochester: You're afraid of me.

Rochester: 你怕的是我。

Jane: I'm not afraid. I've simply no wish to talk nonsense.

Jane: 我不怕您，只是不愿聊些沒意義的胡話。

Rochester: Do you never laugh, Miss Eyre? Only rarely, perhaps.

Rochester: 你從來不笑嗎？Eyre小姐，很少笑吧。

Rochester: But you're not naturally austere, any more than I'm naturally vicious. I can see in you the glance of a curious sort of bird through the close-set bars of a cage, a vivid, restless captive. Were it but free, it would soar, cloud-high.

Rochester: 但你并非生來就如此嚴(yán)肅，就像我并非天生就是個惡棍。在我看來  你就像一只籠中的鳥從緊密的籠縫中看去，正在不安地撲騰著。但倘若它獲得自由，便會沖上云端。
