Hollande: Mali crash victims' bodies to be flown to France

More French troops have arrived in Mali, where they will help in the Air Algerie plane crash investigation. Troops from a U.N. peacekeeping force have already secured the crash site, which sits near the Burkina Faso border. In France, President Francois Hollande met with the families of the crash victims. Afterwards, he said more challenges lie ahead.

Aviation experts, criminal investigators and soldiers converged at the site Friday - a day after the plane crashed, killing 118 people. Officials say poor weather was the most likely cause of the crash but have not made any conclusions. The Malian president also flew in to express his condolences.

On the streets of Gaza City, evidence of conflict is glowing in the dark. An Israeli air strike hit this car, killing at least one Palestinian man, a local medic said. It's just the latest death hours before a 12-hour humanitarian truce takes effect. Israel and Hamas agreed to the truce, which Hamas said was brokered by the United Nations. It's unclear what effect it will have. Israeli officials said troops would keep searching for tunnels used by militants and would respond if fired upon. The 18 days of fighting have killed at least 863 Palestinians and 35 Israeli troops, according to officials on each side.

Hundreds march near Times Square calling for end to Israel-Gaza violence

With photos depicting death and chants of defiance, hundreds in New York City protest the ongoing bloodshed caused by fighting between Israel's army and Hamas militants in Gaza. The large crowd waved banners, marched into Times Square and demanded more protest.

The protest came as Hamas and Israel agreed to a 12-hour humanitarian truce, which starts Saturday at 8 a.m. Israeli time.The protest also came amid rising death tolls. Gaza officials say 844 people have been killed in 18 days of conflict. The death toll for the Israeli army has increased to 35.
