Ukraine government forces recapture Slaviansk
烏克蘭政府軍重新占領親俄城市
A victory for Ukrainian government forces. They've recaptured a flashpoint area of eastern Ukraine from pro-Russian rebels.And Ukraine says their flag is flying over Slaviansk once again.
這對烏克蘭政府軍來說是一個勝利。他們重新從親俄叛軍手中奪取了烏克蘭東部形勢一觸即發的城市。
(SOUNDBITE) (Ukrainian) NATIONAL SECURITY AND DEFENCE COUNCIL OF UKRAINE SPOKESMAN, ANDRIY LYSENKO, SAYING: "Last night rebels who got under intense mortar fire from the Ukrainian troops, tried to escape from surrounded Slaviansk. As the result,one tank, two armored vehicles and two armored personnel carriers belonging to terrorists have been destroyed."
烏克蘭國家安全與防務委員會發言人ANDRIY LYSENKO：“昨天晚上，叛軍遭遇了來自烏克蘭軍隊的猛烈炮火，他們試圖從被包圍的斯拉維揚斯克逃跑。結果，恐怖分子一輛坦克，兩輛裝甲車和兩輛裝甲運兵車被摧毀。”
Ukraine says a large number of separatists had fled after sustained fire.

(SOUNDBITE) (Ukrainian) NATIONAL SECURITY AND DEFENSE COUNCIL OF UKRAINE SPOKESMAN, ANDRIY LYSENKO, SAYING: "Reconnaissance units of Ukraine's Armed Forces and National Guard are operating in Slaviansk. Ukraine's president gave an order to restore functioning of state institutions in Slaviansk and to raise (Ukraine's) national flag on the city administration building."

A source close to the rebels told Reuters they had been outnumbered by 50 to one.

Taliban set oil tankers ablaze in Afghanistan

The sky fills with smoke as flames leap into the air. Taliban insurgents set fire to around 200 oil tanker trucks supplying fuel for NATO forces in Aghanistan.

(SOUNDBITE) (Dari) OWNER OF OIL TANKERS, BADAM GUL, SAYING: "Forty eight of my oil tankers have been burnt due to an attack by insurgents.I tried to take them out of fire but the police didn't let me."

It remains unclear how the trucks were set ablaze in this parking lot just outside of Kabul. But some Afghan media reports say insurgents fired rockets at the tankers late Friday. This comes as Afghanistan prepares to announce preliminary results of the final round of a presidential election on Monday. The Taliban had previously vowed to disrupt the election process,and are claiming responsibility for the attack.

Oldest living American turns 116

Gertrude Weaver has been around for her fair share of celebrations. But on Friday, she broke a record when she celebrated her 116th birthday. The Arkansas woman became the oldest confirmed living American and the second oldest person in the world.Family and friends gathered at her home at a rehabilitation center to celebrate with cake, balloons, and an honorary plaque.Weaver attributes her longevity to trusting in the Lord, hard work, and loving everybody.
