Overpass collapses in World Cup host city

An overpass under construction in the Brazilian World Cup host city of Belo Horizonte collapses, crushing vehicles beneath,and killing at least one person, officials said. It fell on top of one of the main thoroughfares that connects a World Cup stadium and the international airport. Hours into the night -- crews worked to remove a passenger bus that had been partially crushed -- while another car was still trapped under the wreckage. They also removed a body from the crash site. Earlier in the day, a health department official said that two people had died, but later retracted that number to say one of the deaths was not confirmed. Fire officials said 19 others were injured in the incident. The overpass was originally intended to be part of a bus system that officials had promised would be ready in time for the games. This isn't the first such fatal World Cup-related accident. Eight workers died in the process of building stadiums across the country.

Two days after the ending of the ceasefire in Ukraine, and the artillery is back out in force. This video obtained from Ukrainian military television showed artillery guns firing from a field near the Ukrainian city of Slaviansk, a pro-Russian separatist rebel stronghold. The content of this video cannot be independently verified. But there is hope now that a diplomatic solution to the crisis might be in sight. As the guns fired at home, the Ukrainian foreign minister was taking a walk with his Russian counterpart in the German capital Berlin. Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov said they had agreed to work towards a mutually agreed ceasefire.

Militants free 32 Turkish truck drivers seized in Iraq

Children and relatives in southeastern Turkey celebrate the news of the release of their loved ones. They're waiting for thirty two truck drivers, who were abducted in Iraq to arrive safely back home in this border province.

This morning they called us and told us that they had been released. Around midday they called us again and told us that they are on the way. We have just been informed that they passed Mahmur area and handed over to the Peshmerga (Kurdish) fighters in Arbil. Now they are safe in Kurdish zone."

The drivers -- who came from this town -- had been delivering diesel to a plant in Mosul, when they were seized and held for three weeks.

But there was no word on the 49 remaining Turks, who are still missing. The Turkish government says it's working on gaining their release.
