Students die in South Korea collapse
韓國大學(xué)迎新 禮堂突然坍塌
It should have been the start of a new chapter in the lives of the students at a South Korean university welcome meeting on Monday night. Instead the families of at least ten are in mourning after the building collapsed on them. About 560 people were inside the auditorium at the time at a mountain golf resort in Gyeongju. Some were trapped beneath the rubble but officials say all have now been rescued. Grieving relatives are struggling to come to terms with their loss.
周一晚上，在韓國一所大學(xué)的迎新晚會(huì)上，許多學(xué)生原本應(yīng)該面臨人生精彩的新篇章。出人意料的是，禮堂突然坍塌，其中至少10名學(xué)生的家人陷入悲傷的哀悼。慶州這個(gè)高爾夫度假山村的禮堂坍塌時(shí)，共有大約560人在內(nèi)。一些人被埋在廢墟中，但是官員們表示，現(xiàn)在所有被困人員已經(jīng)獲救。悲痛的親屬們不得不面對(duì)自己的損失。

Survivors say everything happened very quickly.

(SOUNDBITE) (Korean) UNIDENTIFIED BUSAN UNIVERSITY STUDENT SAYING: "There was only one door at the back. Everyone ran toward the door but the speed of the collapse was way too fast. We were buried."

An investigation is underway but it's believed the weight of snow on the roof of the auditorium at the mountain golf resort may be to blame.

It's been three years to the day since the start of the revolution that brought down Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. Many in Tripoli see February 17th as a cause for celebration.

These were the scenes in Tripoli three years ago. It began with what was called a day of rage following a riot two days earlier over the arrest of a human rights activist. A bloody civil war raged for months. Gaddafi was eventually killed by rebels along with his son Mo'tassim. Another son, Saif al-Islam, was captured alive. In the present day Libya's due to elect an assembly on February 20th to draft a constitution intended to advance the country's transition to democracy.

The Ur district of Baghdad was the scene of the single deadliest bombing in a night of violence across the Iraqi capital. At least 11 people lost their lives here when a minibus packed with explosives blew up at a bus station. They were among at least 24 killed in a wave of bomb blasts targeting Shi'ite areas of the city. On the same night there were car bomb blasts near two Shi'ite mosques. One of the attacks happened here in the Karrada district of the capital. The death toll rose with another car bombing in the west of the city. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bloodshed. But Shi'ites are often the target of attacks by Sunni Islamist insurgents who've been regaining ground in Iraq during the last year and have overrun several towns in recent weeks.
