首先，我對第四屆夏季達沃斯論壇的召開表示祝賀！對各位嘉賓的到來表示歡迎！在世界經濟緩慢復蘇的關鍵時刻，本次論壇以“推動可持續增長”為主題，探尋未來發展之路，具有很強的針對性和重要的現實意義。我祝愿本次論壇圓滿成功！

Let me begin by extending congratulations on the opening of the fourth Annual Meeting of the New Champions, the Summer Davos, and a welcome to you all. At the crucial juncture when the world economy is slowly recovering, the meeting will explore the way forward for future development under the theme of "Driving Growth Through Sustainability". This is highly relevant and significant, and I wish the meeting full success!
過去的兩年，在極為困難、復雜的情況下，中國在世界率先實現經濟回升向好，保持經濟平穩較快發展，這是我們全面實施一攬子計劃的結果。在國際金融危機沖擊最嚴重的時候，我國經濟增速一度大幅下滑，不少企業處于停產半停產狀態，有的甚至倒閉，不少工人失業，大批農民工返鄉。由于我們及時實施了一攬子計劃，從2009年第二季度開始，經濟增速下滑趨勢迅速扭轉，當年增長9.1%，今年上半年增長11.1%。
城鎮就業不斷增加，居民收入持續增長，社會保持和諧穩定。事非經過不知難。一個13億人口的國家，如果沒有一定的經濟增長速度，實現充分就業、提高人民福祉就是一句空話。實施一攬子計劃的成效，不僅在于保持了當前經濟增長和社會穩定，更重要的是保持了中國經濟發展的好勢頭，現代化進程沒有因巨大的外部沖擊而出現大的波折，其意義重大而深遠。
