雙語(yǔ)咖啡廳:Something="某物"?
原文:Nobody could deny that Jeff had something about him.
原文:Nobody could deny that Jeff had something about him.
Something seems to have come over him.(看來(lái)他有點(diǎn)變了)原句中的Something意思可以參見(jiàn)《英漢大詞典》定義第5條“重要的東西”。
I hope this time my advice will go for something with him
1 He has made something of this deal.
2 In three years he made something of himself.
3 That’s something.
4 There is something in what he has just said.
5He is somebody.
