1【Two children stabbed to death in NY, nanny is top suspect】紐約兩小孩被刺死嫌疑人系其保姆
TEXT:The scene outside the New York apartment building where two children of a television executive were stabbed to death. New York police say the main suspect in this grizzly crime is their nanny. The children's mother Marina Krim discovered their bodies when she returned to their apartment just a block away from Central Park. Commissioner Ray Kelly New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly Saying: "The children were found in the tub. They were clothed. We believe now that the nanny began to stab herself as the woman entered the room, entered the bathroom. He says 50-year-old Yoselyn Ortega, the children's nanny is in critical condition after cutting her own throat and slitting her wrist. She is sedated but police say they plan to interview her over the weekend and will bring charges in the coming days. Outside Ortega's apartment in Harlem, locals say they're shocked by the reports. Neighbor Ruben Rivas described Ortega as pleasant. "Normal and very nice person. A person who used to say 'Hi' and 'Bye' and 'God bless you,' 'Take care of yourself'. I think she was very religious. Yes." Police say that Kevin Krim, the children's father, an executive at CNBC Digital was traveling when the incident occurred and that officers met him at the airport and notified him of the tragedy.

TEXT:The Bahamas are drenched. Hurricane Sandy's fierce winds and heavy rain left 31 people dead across the Caribbean. Sandy barreled across the Bahamas knocking out power on several islands. The Category 1 hurricane sent swirling rains and winds across several hundred miles and is headed for the east coast of the U.S. where the winds are already picking up. In Florida, locals are stocking up on supplies and snapping up generators in preparation. A tropical storm warning has been issued for parts of Florida up to North Carolina. VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA BEACH PATROLMAN, SCOTT PETERSOHN SAYING: "Every year we have some kind of terrible thing happen where somebody goes out and either gets injured or killed because they went out in the ocean when it is like this or worse." It will be several days before Sandy arrives in the U.S. but forecasters are warning that the storm could combine with a polar air mass resulting in a unusually potent and dangerous storm.

TEXT:One the funniest group photos you're likely to see. Dozens of clowns brought mirth and color to Mexico City for the 17th Annual International Clown Convention. Their aim is to gain support and respect for their art. Which Mexican clown Sergio Cabas says is a labor of love. SOUNDBITE: Sergio Cabas, clown known as "El Payaso Perolito", saying (Spanish): "Being a clown is a vocation. It's a profession. One needs to be sentimental and have a love for art. Not only for the children, but for the entire family, in a society that today is plagued by a lack of values, by violence." Most, but not all, of the clowns are from Latin America.Robert Oran, U.S. clown, saying (English): "It's very interesting, especially for me being an American, to see everything from a Latin American perspective. More than anything I think it's just the fellowship with the other clowns. For me, that is the best part." According to the Latin American Clown Association there are some 10,000 professional clowns in Mexico -- and they're putting their best foot forward.
