That evening while Jerry and Joan were eating supper, Ricky came riding up. “Here’s a note for Miss Phoebe,” he said. “Dr. Ingram and his little girl brought it.”

On Midsummer Day that’s exactly the sort of party that Miss Phoebe Tabb had.
