A staggered network of 16 lakes linked together through waterfalls and miles of gorgeous boardwalks, Plitvice National Park varies its mood daily as the lakes’ ever-changing palette shifts from steely grey to a vibrant turquoise depending on the weather and skies overhead. The park also has historical significance as the starting point for the Croatian War of Independence which ripped through the country in the 1990s.
