Search for plane heads to ocean floor with underwater drone

The hunt for the missing Malaysian Airlines plane is heading to the bottom of the Indian Ocean --- thanks to this U.S. Navy underwater drone. Officials are hoping Bluefin-21 will give them a clear acoustic picture of the sea floor --- which it can reportedly scan for periods of up to 16 hours at a time. Authorities did caution that it could take up to two months to scour the 230 square mile (596 square km) area where the plane is believed to have disappeared. Bluefin-21's first foray on Monday was cut short after it plummeted below its depth limit. The coming days will hopefully be smoother. Many are hoping the drone will be able to follow up on the success it had last year --- leading authorities to a missing F-15 fighter jet that crashed off Japan.

Kim's grandson and current leader of north korea kim jong un paid his respects to both his grandfater and his father in a formal ceremony Upsound But in south korea, the day was marked by protests. Anti-north korea demonstrators chanted and defaced images of the kim's, and expressed their anger over the north's habit of flexing its military might. South korean leader park chan-sung saying: "north korea has fired missiles into the east sea and it is reportedly preparing a fourth nuclear test now. Our south korean people strongly condemn the north's dictatorship on the birthday of kim il sung, 'the day of sun'". Kim il sung led his country from its founding in 1948. Until 1994, when his son kim jong il, took over. Upon his death in 2011, kim jong un was declared the supreme leader.

"Captain America" soars to top box office spot

"Captain America: The Winter Soldier," soars to top box office spot, marking the second straight weekend win for Marvel's red-white-and-blue superhero, pulling in $41.4 million. The film starring Chris Evans is a follow up to 2011 hit, "Captain America: The First Avenger." And it's received mostly positive reviews. The Atlantic called it "a movie that is, in the best sense of the word, a Marvel." In second place at the box office was "Rio 2," the sequel to "Rio," bringing in $39 million in ticket sales, according to estimates. It tells the story of Brazilian birds on a trip to the Amazon.
