Police arrest all five gang rape suspects
印度女記者慘遭輪奸 5名疑犯全部落網(wǎng)
One of five men suspected of gang raping a photojournalist in India is taken into police custody. After one arrest in Mumbai and another in Delhi Sunday, Indian authorities say they now have all the suspects in custody. The 22-year-old victim was attacked Thursday while on assignment at this abandoned textile mill in Mumbai. According to local media, the attackers threatened to slash her with a broken bottle and reveal her identity if she reported the rape. The mother of one suspect defended her son, but said he should be punished if he participated in the assault.

Police said they would push for a speedy prosecution. India introduced tougher rape laws earlier this year following mass protests over the fatal gang rape of a student on a Delhi public bus last December. The trials of five accused in that case are expected to wrap up in three weeks.

Also at the same building, attorney Gloria Allred - who has filed two lawsuits against Filner on behalf of two women who claim the mayor sexually harassed them. So far - 16 women have come forward - accusing the 70-year-old divorced mayor of sexual harassment. Filner - who took a two week leave of absence to undergo therapy and address behavioral issues - has brushed off repeated calls to resign. Outside City Hall - a group of his demonstrators gathered to support him.

Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny is free once again after being detained by the police. The Moscow mayoral candidate had just finished addressing his supporters when the police began surrounding the area. When Navalny finished, police arrested him for breaching the regulations of mass events conduct, according to Russian media. Navalny was sentenced to five years in prison last month for theft in a trial he said was instigated by President Vladimir Putin. He's been out free while appealing his conviction. Navalny emerged as a popular opposition figure during a wave of anti-government protests in 2011.He has criticized Putin's ruling United Russia, calling it a "party of swindlers and thieves."
