Giant rubber duck bobs into Hong Kong

It's China's turn to take part in a big international bath as a six-story rubber duck floats into Hong Kong, turning Victoria Harbor into its giant tub. Hundreds lined the railings to welcome the well-traveled duck that's bobbed in the waters of Amsterdam, Sydney and Osaka delivering a message from its creator, Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman.

Florentijn Hofman, Artist, saying (English) "We're living on one planet, we're one family and all the waters in the world is our global bathtub and it joins people together, it makes us family. And it also means that we have to take care of each other, you know, and be responsible about this planet." It's the first time the 16.5-meter, or 54 feet inflatable art object has been shown in China, where it's scheduled to stay until June 9th. Afterwards it will continue its global journey to visit the United States and the Middle East.

Wildfires rage along California coast

This is what Californians woke up to on Friday --- sizzling heat from wildfires which are tearing their way through the north coast of Los Angeles. Fierce winds and the area's dry terrain are fueling the blaze, which has already devoured 8,000 acres and threatens thousands of homes. Many people have been evacuated from the region, which from the sky looked as though it were outlined in glowing orange. The blaze has engulfed farm buildings and vehicles but so far, no homes. More than 900 firefighters are working to contain the flames which Ventura County officials say is burning a path toward Malibu. Fanned by the Santa Anna winds, the fire has ignited what many officials predict will be a particularly scorching fire season throughout much of the Southwest.

First woman on FBI terror list

Joanne Chesimard's earned a dubious place in history. She's the first woman to make it on the FBI's 'most wanted terrorist' list for killing a New Jersey State Trooper in 1973.
Joanne Chesimard獲得了歷史上不光彩的地位。她因在1973年殺死一名新澤西州警察，成為美國(guó)聯(lián)邦調(diào)查局首位“頭號(hào)通緝恐怖分子”。
AARON FORD, SPECIAL AGENT IN CHARGE, FBI NEWARK, SAYING: "Today, on the 40th anniversary of trooper Werner Foerster's death, we stand together with the New Jersey State Police to reaffirm our commitment to the capture of Joanne Chesimard. The men and women of the FBI will continue to do all that we can to make sure she is brought to justice." Chesimard escaped jail and fled to Cuba in 1979 following her conviction for murder. The trooper died in a gun battle when he stopped a car carrying Chesimard for a vehicle violation.

She provides anti-U.S. government speeches espousing the Black Liberation Army message of revolution and terrorism." U.S. authorities have also doubled the reward for her capture to two million dollars in the hope of fuelling wider enthusiasm for her return to the U.S.
