FBI doing it's job: Obama
奧巴馬稱美國聯(lián)邦調查局恪盡職守
U.S. President Barack Obama told reporters the FBI and other government agencies have been on track in their investigations of the Boston Marathon bombing.
美國總統(tǒng)奧巴馬告訴記者,聯(lián)邦調查局和其它政府機構一直都在跟蹤調查波士頓馬拉松爆炸案 。
U.S. PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA SAYING: "What I can say is that based on what I've seen so far, the FBI performed its duties, Department of Homeland Security did what it was supposed to be doing, but this is hard stuff." As the investigation continues, FBI officials were seen taking potential evidence from the home of the parents of Katherine Russell, the widow of one of the suspected bombers. 24 year old Russell- seen here in black- was married to Tamerlan Tsarnaev who was killed by police. His brother, 19 year old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, is currently in a prison hospital near Boston. Three people died and more than 200 were injured in the April 15th attack after homemade explosive devices were detonated near the finish line of the Boston Marathon

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad chose to mark May Day with a visit to a power plant in Damascus. In the video released by Syrian TV, he appears relaxed, shaking hands with employees and touring the facility. He also commented on a bomb blast in center of the capital, which is under government control, that killed 13 people on Tuesday.

Syrian President Bashar al Assad saying (Arabic) "We will not be afraid. Did you see the reaction of people in Damascus yesterday? They came out in an unorganized protest and they could have been attacked with a second car bomb. We are now all standing in defiance, this is a challenge of whether we will cower in fear or remain fearless. We will not be afraid. They want us to live underground but we will remain above it and nobody will die until their time comes." State TV also reported that 70 people were wounded in Tuesday's bombing -- calling it an attack by "terrorists" fighting to overthrow Assad.

Russians mark Labour Day with marches

Thousands of Russian Communists took to the streets of Moscow on Wednesday in a Labour Day march tinged with nostalgia. In the shadow of Soviet Union founder, Vladimir Lenin, many looked back fondly on the Soviet era as a period of stability. Taking part in the march, Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov said the country's future depended on people taking to the streets to make their voices heard. In a separate rally, Nationalists gathered to highlight concerns over immigrants, who they accused of undercutting Russian wages.

CHAIRMAN OF RUSSKIE NATIONALIST MOVEMENT SUPERVISORY BOARD ALEXANDER BELOV, SAYING: "Today is the national Labour Day, it's a holiday. The biggest difference from the left's (Communists) May 1 is that we we don't think that Russia is for all, but that it is, first and foremost for Russians. We don't want crowds of immigrants. Our people have to work for decent pay, our young people should be able to buy a flat, start a family."
