（1）短語

1. cross the road：過馬路，橫穿馬路

（2）句型

1. 某人與某人的年齡相當，套用下面這個句型：

Sb is about someone’s age.

源于上文：The boy was about Oliver"s age.

2. 某人長著什么樣的臉，套用下面這個句型：

Sb has a +adj. +face.

源于上文：He had a dirty,ordinary boy"s face.

3. 某人的實際身高沒有達到該年齡應該達到是身高，可以套用下面這個句型：

Sb is short for one’s age.

源于上文：He was short for his age.

4. 描述衣服很長，長到身體的某個部位，可以套用下面這個句型：

Something (eg. coat , dress etc. ) reach down to one’s+身體部位。

源于上文：He wore a man"s coat which reached almost down to his feet

第四、語法點撥

1. Then he noticed that a boy, who had passed him a few minutes before,had returned...

要點解析1：換線部分是非線性性定語從句修飾前行詞boy。

要點解析2：在過去完成時態中，表示多久前，before位于時間后。

2. He was too tired even to beg．

要點解析：這個句式是主語+系動詞+too+adj.+to do something。

3. ... but he behaved as if he were an adult．

要點解析：劃線部分由as if引導的讓步狀語從句要使用虛擬語氣。這里用的是過去式：were。

要點解析：劃線部分是有as though引導的讓步狀語從句，要使用虛擬語氣，這里的謂語結構是would blow off。
