漢語說某人“眼睛里冒金星”，一般指頭部受到重擊之后的反應，可是英語里have stars in one's eyes卻有完全不同的意思。

這兩者又是一對“假朋友”。按照Oxford Idioms Dictionaries for Learners of English: If you "have stars in your eyes", it means you are "happy and excited about the future because you believe that you will be successful and famous",所以其意思應是“美滋滋的，充滿美好的憧憬”。所以，原句可譯為：她的眼光里充滿了美好的憧憬。

又如：Mary gets stars in her eyes whenever she thinks of her boyfriend.(每當想到她的男朋友，瑪麗就充滿了幸福感。)這一短語有時也有“過分樂觀，懷有不切實際的希望”的意思。由這一短語引申出的形容詞starry-eyed意思也一樣。
