1【Cambodia mourns former King Norodom Sihanouk】柬埔寨悼念前國王西哈努克
TEXT:The body of Cambodia's former king in China, after his death in a Beijing hospital at the age of 89. The royal family and officials gathered to collect Norodom Sihanouk before transportation back to the royal palace in Cambodia. By his side, Sihanouk's son and current King, along with the Queen Mother. Sihanouk's coffin was later taken to the airport, while in Cambodia, mourners began gathering to pay their respects. Despite becoming a puppet during brutal Khmer Rouge rule, Sihanouk was once Cambodia's absolute ruler, who ushered in independence. 52-YEAR OLD VEN PHIN SAYING (Khmer): "Losing the king is like losing a big shade of a tree. But I swear to obey his achievements, to continue to build the country to a prosperous future." At arrival at the royal palace, Sihanouk will lie in state for three months before his funeral.

2【Russia launches smoking crackdown】俄羅斯開展整治吸煙運動
TEXT:Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev is backing a campaign to crack down on smoking in Russia, the world's second biggest tobacco market after China. In a message on his video blog, he warns that one in three Russians are hooked on cigarettes and nearly 400,000 die each year from smoking-related causes. The campaign includes a proposed bill to ban tobacco advertising, raise cigarette taxes and eventually ban smoking in public places. However, Russians generally don't seem to be concerned about the proposed law.MOSCOW CITIZEN VIKTOR, SAYING: "I think people will be smoking no matter what, it's Russia." Vladimir, a resident of Moscow, agrees. He says people will smoke despite the ban. But his friend Anya says some could possibly quit if cigarette prices go up to 300 roubles, or 10 U.S. dollars a pack. The bill is expected to be submitted to parliament for approval in the coming days as big tobacco companies lobby to soften any new anti-smoking legislation.

TEXT:Syrians watch as an aircraft falls from the sky and burst into flames in this latest video posted to a social media website. Rebels in Aleppo say this man is the pilot responsible for bombing the city. Cursing at him, they lead him into a building and question him. Reuters cannot independently verify the content of this video. Other video from Idlib shows rebel fighters targeting government aircraft. A plane can be seen in the sky moments before two large explosions erupt in the distance. Idlib and its surrounding areas are critical because they flank the main highway connecting Damascus to Aleppo. It was just one of several explosions to rock the country -- Dark plumes of smoke above Deir Al Zor after the city's transformer was hit with a bomb.
