1【Obama defends foreign policy on campaign trail】奧巴馬競選擁護對外政策
TEXT:U.S. President Barack Obama finishes a west coast campaign swing, delivering a speech to a spirited crowd in San Francisco. Obama defended his administration's foreign policy after Republican rival Mitt Romney gave a speech on the topic earlier in the day. U.S. PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA, SAYING: "Governor Romney - he has a different view. He said it was tragic to end the war in Iraq. In a speech today, he doubled-down on that belief. He said ending the war was a mistake. I disagree. Bringing our troops home was the right thing to do. And every brave American who wears the uniform of this country should know that as long as I'm commander-in-chief, we will sustain the strongest military the world's ever known." Romney has increased his criticism of the Obama administration's foreign policy, seeking to build on a recent attack on the American consulate in Benghazi that killed the U.S. Ambassador. With just weeks left in the close race some polls show Romney pulling slightly ahead Obama after his performance in the first presidential debate last week. But most polls still suggest Obama retains the lead.

Hanan Ashrawi, a member of the PLO, told Reuters TV Romney's plan will go nowhere.HANAN ASHRAWI, A MEMBER OF THE PALESTINE LIBERATION ORGANIZATION'S EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE, SAYING: "He (Romney) is going about it the wrong way when he talks about improving even relations with Israel, being more biased towards Israel, paying more money to Israel, giving it more in terms of weapons and so on and security cooperation without realizing that it is precisely this bias that has undermined American standing and interest and that has destroyed the chances of peace in the region." In Jerusalem a more welcome response. YOAV IVGY, JERUSALEM RESIDENT, SAYING: "Romney is going to be better because he is not so, I think he is much more clear about this issue (Iranian nuclear program). He is like black and white, it's not too much grey area as Obama" After his visit to Jerusalem in July, Palestinians accused Romney of racism when he suggested disparities between the Israeli and Palestinian economies had cultural roots.

3【UK zombies attempt world record】英國"僵尸"欲創世界紀錄
TEXT:England was dying to break the world record for the largest zombie gathering. So corpses from around the country gathered in Sussex, applying a full face of white makeup, dark eyes and some form of red paint in order to qualify. And sci-fi fans like Chris and Lois Horley rose from the dead for the occasion.Chris Horley, participant, saying (English): "It's a passion. We love films about zombies. Its an opportunity to get outside of the normal everyday life." (SOUNDBITE) Lois Horley, participant, saying (English): "I've seen every zombie film ever made and inspired by all of them, so it wasn't hard when I read it in the paper and heard that they were doing it. I thought - it's made for me." As dusk descended, officials determined that an admirable 1,500 zombies met the criteria. But Guinness World Records said the UK zombies failed to take over the U.S. record, where more than 4,000 ghouls gathered for the New Jersey zombie walk in 2010.
