1【Schools closed in Turkish border town amid violence】土耳其邊界城鎮因暴亂學校關閉
TEXT:Turkish students in the border town of Akcakale arrive at school on Monday morning hopeful to return to their classes after a three-week break amid cross-border fighting with Syria. But to their disappointment the school doors remained shut. This girl said that the students miss their teachers and want to return to their lessons. She also said that many among them have relatives who died or were wounded in the violence. Fresh mortar fire from Syrian territory struck the town on Sunday. There were no immediate reports of casualties from yesterday's strike, but just four days earlier five civilians were killed by Syrian shelling. Turkey retaliated by several attacks on Syrian military targets. Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday that Turkey is prepared to face a war if it becomes necessary. Speaking at a conference in Istanbul, Erdogan said while Turkey does not want a war, it would take the "necessary" measures to protect peace and warned Syria not to test its resolve. Damascus claimed its fire hit Turkey accidently.

2【Israeli airstrike wounds eight in Gaza】以色列空襲致8人受傷
TEXT:A Palestinian boy receives treatment in hospital after being caught in an Israeli airstrike. The Sunday attack wounded two militants and eight bystanders in the south end of the Gaza Strip. Two of the wounded are in critical condition. Hospital officials say the militants were riding a motorcycle near the town of Rafah, which borders Egypt. Israel claims the strike was meant to target two members of the "Global Jihadist" group, which is responsible for violence against Israelis and weapons manufacturing. The Israeli military and various militant factions have traded blows several times this year since a fragile cease fire failed. Islamist Hamas leaders did not immediately comment on the attack, but the group has often accused Israel of escalating the conflict.

TEXT:When the sun goes down and all go to bed a Tokyo mother gets ready for work. After making sure her daughter Nuno is sound asleep, Mami Koide gets creative around her toddler using the floor as her canvas. Everyday items such as clothes, socks and even vegetables turn into fantastic scenery with Nuno as the center star. Koide says the resulting image mirrors her daughter's dreams. She sent her first picture to her bartender husband who is away from home during the night. This late night ritual continued and Koide produced many photographs. She recently published a limited edition book that became an instant hit on Amazon Japan, prompting her publisher to print more copies. But despite the success Koide is worried about one thing - will Nuno approve of her work? 41-year-old Cartoonist and Mother Mami Koide saying (Japanese) "I'm still not confident whether she will be happy and satisfied with what I'm doing without her permission while she is sleeping." For now Nuno seems to be happy in the land of dreams where she is perhaps playing in a field with horses and cats.
