TEXT:The London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony sparks amusement in Beijing - host of the Games four years ago. Director, Danny Boyle's rendition of the William Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew was described in Chinese newspapers as "spectacular" and "very English" This anchorwoman for state television CCTV said the $42 million show was a humorous "feast for the eyes." But for some, the show could not compare to Beijing's 2008 spectacle. 20-YEAR-OLD BEIJING RESIDENT CHEN YE SAYING: "The opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games was grander, as it didn't just show the Olympian spirit but also Chinese history dating back thousands of years. So I think the Beijing opening was more spectacular." TEXT:A day after Queen Elizabeth surprised the world by appearing, alongside James Bond actor Daniel Craig in a film broadcast during the opening ceremony --- she is getting rave reviews for her performance. Linda And Bob, from Hampshire UK, saying: "I sort of enjoyed her part in it, and it is her special year, so the fact that she's actually playing a part in the Olympics is good." Richard Hammond, From North London saying: "Well she's a game old bird, really, isn't she? Yeah, I guess so, for an 86-year-old, I suppose it gives the impression that she's a got-get-it, but I'm sure her grandchildren put her up to it, I'm sure." Her fans include London's Mayor Boris Johnson. LONDON MAYOR, BORIS JOHNSON, SAYING: "But, I'll tell you what she was - she was also thrilled to have been given her first film role and she was very excited. She was very keen to know whether people had been amused by it and I thought they were. I thought it was very, very funny." Thousands of fans streamed into the complex Saturday, with swimming events topping the schedule. But Friday's opening ceremony, directed by filmmaker Danny Boyle, was still fresh in everyone's minds. PAUL HAYWOOD-SCHIFER, FROM LONDON, SAYING: "Yeah, its brilliant. We all watched last night, Danny Boyle did a brilliant job and we are happy to be here today."
