U.S. and Ukraine officials are due to meet shortly in Saudi Arabia for talks aimed at mending ties and establishing whether Ukraine is willing to make concessions to end its war with Russia.

The big concern of the Ukrainians is that that ceasefire so far appears to come without any enforcement mechanism to ensure that the Russians can't simply rearm over the course of a year or so, use the law to strengthen their forces, wait until Mr. Trump has a bit less political capital and then just reinvade.
