I also think that Russia wants to make a deal because in a certain different way, a different way that only I know, only I know they have no choice either.

We did hear from his envoy, Steve Witkoff a little earlier who has been involved in the talks with Russia and with Ukraine who spoke a bit about the plan for a meeting in Saudi Arabia next week.
He said the plan there would be to agree a framework of a peace agreement as well as an initial ceasefire, and he described the letter that President Zelenskyy sent to Donald Trump earlier this week as a good positive first step to getting relations back on track, but he did not say when either military aid or intelligence sharing might be restored between the U.S. and Ukraine.

A trade war averted at least for now, and a lot of that is being put down to Claudia Sheinbaum's personal phone call with Donald Trump, the fact that it's being heralded by her supporters as evidence of her deft diplomacy with the White House that she can find a way to deal with him that perhaps Prime Minister Trudeau of Canada has not.
The language has been very different from Donald Trump towards Claudia Sheinbaum, saying that he had postponed tariffs almost out of respect for her.
