If one man who reads this book gets rich by doing what it tells him to do, that is evidence in support of my claim;
如果有人讀了我的書之后，通過書中描述的方式成功致富，該事例就是一條能夠支撐書中觀點的論據:
but if every man who does what it tells him to do gets rich, that is positive proof
如果在此之后，凡是讀過這本書的人都因為書中所描述的方法成功致富，那么這些現實的案例就都是證明我論點的有力證據，
until some one goes through the process and fails.
直到某一天，有人按照書中所述去做，結果失敗了，這些論據才失效。
The theory is true until the process fails;
換言之，只要我推理的致富過程在現實當中成功了，我的這一理論就是正確的，除非某天該過程被證明是無效的。
and this process will not fail,
但是，我推理出來致富過程水遠都不會失敗。
for every man who does exactly what this book tells him to do will get rich.
任何嚴格按照書中理論去做的人最終必將夢想成真。
I have said that men get rich by doing things in a certain way;
我已經反復說過，人可以通過某種特殊的行為方式獲取財富，
and in order to do so, men must become able to think in a certain way.
而這樣做的首要前提就是，人必須能夠按照這一特殊的方式進行思考。
A man's way of doing things is the direct result of the way he thinks about things.
人的思維方式將會直接作用在他的行為方式上，因此，一個人的做事方式就是他思維方式的最直觀的體現。
To do things in a way you want to do them, you will have to acquire the ability to think the way you want to think;
想要按照自已所想的方式去做事情，你就必須首先獲得能夠按照自己所想的方式去思考的能力。
this is the first step toward getting rich.
這也是邁向財富的第一步。
To think what you want to think is to think TRUTH, regardless of appearances.
按照自已所想的方式去思考是一種透過表象看本質的思考方式。
Every man has the natural and inherent power to think what he wants to think,
每個人都完全能夠按照自已所想的方式去思考，這是人類與生俱來的一種能力。
but it requires far more effort to do so than it does to think the thoughts which are suggested by appearances.
不過，對我們而言，與僅僅按照事物的表象去思考相比，將這種與生俱來的能力付諸實踐就要困難得多了。
To think according to appearance is easy，to think truth regardless of appearances is 1aborious，
依照事物的表象去思考并不難，困難的是透過它們的外表從其本質去思考問題，
and requires the expenditure of more power than any other work man is called upon to perform
因為其所需要的能量遠遠大于其他任何人類目前所能從事的工作。
There is no 1abor from which most people shrink as they do from that of sustained and consecutive thought;
絕大多數人都無法承受這一漫長且難熬的思考過程。
it is the hardest work in the world.
毋庸置疑，這是一項世界上最艱苦的工作，
This is especially true when truth is contrary to appearances.
尤其是當事物的表象與其本質相矛盾的時候，工作量之大，思考過程之艱巨可想而知。
Every appearance in the visible world tends to produce a corresponding form in the mind which observes it
世界上每一種外在表現形式，無論其是否與其本質相吻合，都會在其觀察者的思想中產生一個相應的模型，
and this can only be prevented by holding the thought of the TRUTH.
而惟一能夠阻止這一模型生成的方法就是堅持按照事物的本質思考。
To look upon the appearance of disease will produce the form of disease in your own mind,
當你看到疾病的種種癥狀時，你的腦海里便會成生一種關于疾病的模型，
and ultimately in your body,
而這一模型的概念最終將會逐漸滲透至你的每一個細胞，
unless you hold the thought of the truth, which is that there is no disease,
除非你能一直秉信本質思考法，堅定這世上本沒有疾病的信念，不然，你就將淪為這一觀點的俘虜。
it is only an appearance, and the reality is health.
事實上，所有疾病的癥狀不過是些表象，隱藏在它們后面的健康才是癥結所在。
To 1ook upon the appearances of poverty will produce corresponding forms in your own mind,
當你看到貧窮的種種表現形式之后，你的腦海里也會生成一種關于貧窮的模型，
unless you hold to the truth that there is no poverty; there is only abundance.
除非你能堅持真理，堅值這世上本沒有貧窮，你看到的不過是錯誤的表象，不然，你的思想就會被這一模型概念所占領。
To think health when surrounded by the appearances of disease, or to think riches when in the midst of appearances of povety, requires power,
要我們在被疾病的癥狀包圍時仍然能夠堅信健康，或是在一窮二白、山窮水盡之時仍然堅信財富的存在，
but he who acquires this power becomes a MASTER MIND.
這的確是需要巨大的能量才能辦到的事情。
He can conquer fate, he can have whatever he wants.
但是，一旦我們獲得了這一能量，我們就能夠奪回思想的大權，戰勝命運，得到所有自己想要的東西!
This power can only be acquired by getting hold of the basic fact which is behind all appearances,
只有抓住一切表象背后的基本事實，才能獲得這種力量，
and that fact is that there is one Thinking Substance, from which and by which all things are made.
而這一事實就是，有一種思維的物質，一切事物都是由這種物質構成的。
