Six! struck the clock in the town hall.
六點鐘，市政大廳的鐘聲響起。
Jack's mother came downstairs and raised the shades to let in the morning light.
杰克的媽媽走下樓拉開窗簾，好讓清晨的陽光照進來。
Then she put on her apron and began to get the breakfast ready.
接著她戴上圍裙開始準備早飯！
While the food for breakfast was cooking, she spread a clean cloth over the table.
早飯正在燒著的時候，她在桌子上鋪開張干凈的桌布。
After that she set the table.
之后她便開始擺放餐具。
Mother knew that six o'clock was time to begin the work of the day.
媽媽知道六點鐘是一天工作開始的時刻。
Seven! struck the clock in the town hall.
七點鐘，市政大廳的鐘聲響起。
The sun was shining into Jack's room, and the boy knew that it was time to get up.
陽光照進了杰克的房間，他知道該起床了。
But he was sleepy. So he pulled the covers up over his ears to keep out the sound of the clock.
但他還是困。于是他拉著被子捂住耳朵，不想聽到鐘聲。
It was a holiday, and Jack had planned to do nothing all day long but sleep and eat and play.
今天放假杰克打算這一天除了睡覺、吃飯和玩什么都不做。
Ting-a-ling! What was that? Jack jumped out of bed and into his clothes when he heard the loud ring of the door-bell.
丁丁丁！什么聲音？聽到清脆的門鈴聲時杰克立刻跳下床，穿上了衣服。
Then he heard his mother's voice.
接著他聽到了媽媽的聲音。
