語言要點(diǎn)

1.Thank you, Mr. Rochester, for your great kindness.

短語結(jié)構(gòu)點(diǎn)撥：thank sb for sth意思是“因?yàn)槟呈禄蚰澄锒兄x某人”。

2.I'm strangely glad to get back again.

表達(dá)方式點(diǎn)撥：get back意思是“回來”。

3.There's been nothing official yet, but he's ordered jewels from his bank and he's making preparations to travel to Europe.

文法點(diǎn)撥：形容詞修飾不定代詞時(shí)要放于不定代詞的后面，這里是nothing，形容詞是official，nothing official意思是“沒有正式的東西”。

短語點(diǎn)撥：make preparations是固定搭配的短語，意思是“做準(zhǔn)備”。

4.He's taken to singing, the operas Miss Ingram favors so well.

短語點(diǎn)撥：be taken to doing something意思是“沉溺于做某事”“被某事深深地吸引住或占據(jù)”。

5.You are to be married.

文法點(diǎn)撥：這里用到的表示將來做某事的結(jié)構(gòu)是be+動(dòng)詞不定式。Are to be married意思是將要“結(jié)婚”。

6.And I must seek another situation.

詞語點(diǎn)撥：situation在這里的意思是“工作，職位”。Seek another situation意思就是尋求另一份工作。

文學(xué)賞析

1.Just like one of your tricks, to steal in along with the twilight.

賞析：just like one of your tricks意思是“就如你在變戲法一樣”。Rochester說這句話隱含著他對(duì)Jane的智慧賞識(shí)以及欽慕。

賞析：steal in with the twilight意思是睡著暮光悄悄潛入。
Rochester從一直壓抑的心里而能說出這詩一般的話，steel in含有比喻意味，似乎把Jane比作飄忽不定的生靈，再加上景物描繪，把自己對(duì)Jane的那份感情表達(dá)含蓄委婉。

2.Stay your wandering feet at a friend's threshold.

賞析：wander是“漫步，閑逛”的意思，這里使用了其現(xiàn)在分詞形式wandering修飾feet，wondering feet意思為“游蕩的腳步”。Stay是使停留的意思，stay your wondering feet at a friend's threshold意思是“讓你的游蕩悠閑的腳步停留在朋友的家門口”。

此話出自于一向壓抑的Rochester之口，一來我們可見他由于有了一個(gè)家庭教師Jane的陪伴，他的心靈得到歸宿，他死去的情感又激涌起來，他變得快樂了。

3.I'm strangely glad to get back again.

賞析：這是Jane說的話。她說這句話有2層意思。

第一，她看到這美麗的莊園，而且在這里找到了自尊，自己的才華得到施展，她回來時(shí)，的確很高興。

第二，Jane在桑菲爾莊園，不但找到了自尊，找到了自己的位置，而且還產(chǎn)生了對(duì)Rochester的一份愛戀之感，她暗戀著Rochester，但是沒有表白。一種自尊的找回和感情的寄托當(dāng)然會(huì)讓人感到回到此地又能繼續(xù)這種感覺的持續(xù)是很高興的，而且是strangely的，是一種事先沒有感覺到的。

3.I see Mrs. Fairfax has intimated my intention to put my neck into the sacred noose.

賞析：put my neck into the sacred noose意思是“把我的脖子套入神圣不可侵犯的枷鎖”，這里比喻“Rochester不能得到自己幸福的婚姻，還是要繼續(xù)父親給自己安排的沒有生命力的婚姻”。這是Rochester說的一句話，他在這里是譴責(zé)Fairfax不應(yīng)該把他要和Ingram即將結(jié)婚的事情告訴Jane，況且自己并不是要去Ingram小姐。
