一.extraordinary：adj. 非凡的，特別的，特派的
【詞義辨析】
special, especial, specific, particular, exceptional, extraordinary, peculiar,
special: 普通用詞，指不同于一般、與眾不同，著重事物的專門性，突出與一般不同。
especial: 和special含義很接近，較正式，但側重有特殊的意義或重要性。
specific: 著重指某種、某類事物具有的特殊或特定的屬性，也可指專門提出作特別考慮的事物。
particular: 側重不同于普遍性的個性或特殊性。
exceptional: 指不同于一般，本身是特別的或異常的事物。
extraordinary: 語氣比exceptional強，指極大地超過一般或正常情況。
peculiar: 強調指與眾不同或獨特的意思。
【例句用法】
1.She wears the most extraordinary get-ups.
她穿著最不尋常的衣裳。
2.How extraordinary!
真怪呀！
3.Oh, that's really extraordinary!

4.I find it very extraordinary.

【詞義辨析】
sure, certain, definite, positive,
sure: 側重主觀上對某事確信無疑。
certain: 與sure同義，但語氣比sure強，著重指有確切理由或不容置疑的證據所支持的確信。
definite: 指已毫無懷疑的余地。
positive: 語氣強烈，指對自己的看法或作的結論的正確性有不可動搖的信念。
【詞語用法】
1.positive后可接that從句。
I am positive that he will agree with me.
我很肯定他會同意我的建議。
2.positive的反義詞是negative。
【例句用法】
1.Her behaviour was a positive outrage.
她的行為殘暴到了極點。
2.He was positive that he had seen it in the newspaper.
他肯定他已在報紙上看見過。
3.This charge is a positive charge.

【詞義辨析】
information, data, message,
information: 和data作“資料”解時，前者僅指所獲得、提供或描述的慨況，而不指具體的數據或資料，后者則指具體的資料。
data: 是datum的復數形式，本義指作為計算和測量基礎的資料。
message: 指通過書寫、談話和信號等方式所進行的通訊“信息”。
letter, note, correspondence, message,
letter: 最普通用詞，泛指一切形式的書信，尤指郵寄的信。
note: 指內容直截了當的短信或便條，正式或非正式均可。
correspondence: 集合名詞，指全部來往信件。
message: 指書信、口信、電報等。
【例句用法】
1.The message in the newspaper is unabridged.
報紙上的那則消息是沒有經過刪節的。
2.Did you deliver my message to my father?
你把我的信息傳給我父親了嗎?
3.There is an important message for you from your brother.
