二、Listen and Learn 內容透析
1. Would you excuse me? 失陪下行嗎？這句話使用的頻率相當高，當你在談話中有事要離開時，可以借用這句話。
2. The, uh,the invitation said, black tie, not "black eye". 請帖上寫的是“黑領帶”，而不是“黑眼圈”。tie: 結，領帶，領結。Black tie指的是禮服上的黑色領結。比如：Men must wear dark-colored coat with a black bow tie. 男子必須穿深色燕尾服，帶黑色領結。Black eye則是“黑眼圈”——女生煩擾的一個話題。
3. Only of my own making. 都是我自造的。Chuck的爸爸問他是否有麻煩，他說麻煩都是自己造成的。短語"Be of one's own making"則表示“自己造成的，自己做的”。比如：These troubles are all of your own making. 這些麻煩全是你自己引起的。再如：This is a coat of her own making. 這是她親手做的外衣。要想不制造麻煩，還是Don't trouble trouble until trouble troubles you. 不要自找麻煩。
4. Open bar在美國通常指“（婚禮、宴會等場合的）免費酒吧”。
5. Do me a favor: 幫我個忙。
6. Lose the scotch. Scotch在此處是指Scotch whisky，即蘇格蘭威士忌酒。
