181.Adjusting to Rain
It was quitting time and still raining cats and dogs!
How were they supposed to hold the rally now? Mark racked his brains for what to do!
He could put a rain check on the event! No, that wouldn't work!
They had worked so hard to rally people around this event that they would never be able to gain the same momentum.
And if their effort failed because of a cancelled event, historians raking over the ashes of what had happened would mark it as the turning point!
They had to stay the course as they had planned, come rain or shine!
And so he walked outside. It was raining down hard! No one would show up! Dam!
When Mark arrived, no one was present! Then a woman ran out to direct him to a building!
When he walked into a large room he raised his eyebrows-it was packed with people!
Everyone was there! The event wouldn't be rained out after all because someone else had moved the location!
And he knew who must have directed the change! When he saw Elizabeth he raised his hat to her! But she just smiled and pointed to Alex!
Alex? He ranked among the most idiotic of the people focused only on raising money in the organization!
Oh, well, Mark was happy for the help! As he slowly ranged from one person to the other in search of Alex he almost laughed-it was a weird twist of fate!
Alex was also the son of the businessman they were campaigning against!
That made Mark feel great, and he knew that whether it was raining in buckets or not, they were going to raise the roof tonight!
