例如，在Washington Irving 的小說“Rip Van Winkle”的開篇，作者創設了一個極濃烈的大自然的氛圍：

      “...Every change of season, every change of weather, indeed, every hour of the day, produces some change in the magical hues and shapes of these mountains....”

      顯然，這里的四個change，就有四個概念，需要對這四個情景作出聯想。

   可見，創造性的思維，要求在新的語境中具有語言轉換能力，而不是將已知的知識作簡單的復制。注意看看下面譯例中劃線部分的用詞:
