Since China waived visa requirements for the Republic of Korea, many young people are opting to travel to China after work on Fridays. This allows them to experience the unique charm of a foreign culture without interrupting their daily work commitments.

The policy, effective from Nov 8, 2024 to Dec 31, 2025, allows people from nine countries – Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein and the Republic of Korea – to visit China visa-free for tourism, business, family visits and transit. A travel agency of the ROK has reported a 75% surge in orders for trips to China from Nov 1 to 21 compared to the previous period, with bookings for Shanghai tours spiking by a remarkable 178%.
該政策將于2024年11月8日至2025年12月31日期間生效，允許來自斯洛伐克、挪威、芬蘭、丹麥、冰島、安道爾、摩納哥、列支敦士登和韓國等9個國家的公民免簽證前往中國旅游、商務、探親和過境。韓國一家旅行社報告稱，11月1日至21日赴中國旅游的訂單量同比激增75%，其中上海游的預訂量猛增178%。
The preferred weekend destination for many ROK travelers is Shanghai. This is due to Shanghai being a cosmopolitan city with international flair and the convenience of travel.
對于許多韓國游客來說，周末首選的目的地是上海。這是由于上海是一個國際化的城市，具有國際風格和旅行的便利。
Besides Shanghai, there are also numerous tourists who are interested in exploring Chongqing, Zhangjiajie, and other locations to savor Chongqing hotpot or revel in the natural beauty of Zhangjiajie.
