"You watch this door," he muttered, "it's about to open again. I can tell by the intolerable air of smugness it suddenly generates."	“你盯著這扇門，”他咕噥著說，“它又要打開了。我知道，因為它突然產生出一股自以為是的氣焰，真是讓人無法忍受。”
With an ingratiating little whine the door slit open again and Marvin stomped through.	隨著一陣討好的吱吱聲，門滑開了。馬文重重地踏著步子走出門去。
"Come on," he said.	“跟我來。”他說。
The others followed quickly and the door slit back into place with pleased little clicks and whirrs.	福特和阿瑟快步跟上他，然后門又帶著愉快的咔嚓聲滑回原位。
"Thank you the marketing division of the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation," said Marvin and trudged desolately up the gleaming curved corridor that stretched out before them. "Let's build robots with Genuine People Personalities," they said. So they tried it out with me. I'm a personality prototype. You can tell can't you?"	“天狼星控制系統公司市插部！真是多謝啦，”走在過道上，馬文說，“‘讓我們造一種具備真實人類個性的機器人吧，’他們說。于是他們嘗試著制造了我，我是一臺個性原型機。你們看得出來，是吧？”
Ford and Arthur muttered embarrassed little disclaimers.	福特和阿瑟尷尬地隨口應付了幾聲。
"I hate that door," continued Marvin. "I'm not getting you down at all am I?"	“我討厭那扇門。”馬文繼續說道，“我還沒把你們帶到呢，是嗎？”
"Which government ..." started Ford again.	“哪個政府……”福特又開始了。
"No government owns it," snapped the robot, "it's been stolen."	“它不屬于任何政府，”機器人猛地冒出一句，“它目前已經被偷了。”
"Stolen?"	“被偷了？”
"Stolen?" mimicked Marvin.	“被偷了？”馬文戲仿道。
