A new study finds a compound in chocolate called flavanol can help reverse memory loss in older adults. Our doctor B talked about this now,which is the first study which he said is found by Mars and Paul and of course they make chocolate bars. But still there is some promise here.

And they found that animals that ate flavanols, this compound that’s in chocolate, hitting increased blood flow into the part of the brain that’s related to memory. Animals were effective. So they tried it on people, small group of people and they’ve found people who read high dietary intake in flavanols, they remembered more and their blood flowed that part of the brain increased.

So you know all these fruits, onions, apples, red grapes, they all have flavanols. If you want to get dosing this add, they are all good foods for you anyway. But again there is a lot more work. This turn set up a bigger study. We want to see can this work because you can take out the flavanols and gives it in capsule form. But for now, dark chocolate is still a wonderful, wonderful thing.
