Ukraine ceasefire fails to stop fighting
烏克蘭停火未能制止沖突
Ukraine's unilateral ceasefire's only been in force since Friday and it's already under pressure. People are fleeing towns and villages in eastern Ukraine as fighting continues between Ukrainian forces and pro-Russian separatists. Many are heading across the border into Russia.
烏克蘭單方面做出的停火從周五開始生效就已經(jīng)遭遇了壓力。由于烏克蘭軍隊和親俄分裂分子之間的戰(zhàn)斗仍在繼續(xù)，人們正在逃離烏克蘭東部的城鎮(zhèn)和村莊。許多人正穿越邊境，試圖進入俄羅斯境內(nèi)。

(SOUNDBITE)(Russian) VIKTORIA, REFUGEE FROM HORLIVKA, SAYING: "The jets were flying just over my house. We were running away in whatever clothes we had on. There were probably looking where to fire. They flew over my house, they flew over Horlivka,and we were all running away where we could."

These were the scenes in parts of Donetsk region on Sunday. Ukraine's government is accusing the separatists of attacking its military bases and posts on the Russian border. Russia's president says artillery was fired by Ukraine or its paramilitary supporters. On Saturday three crew members were killed when a helicopter involved in a military operation against the separatists crashed. The wreckage wasn't found until Sunday in the Kharkiv region, also in the east. By Monday it still wasn't clear what caused the aircraft to crash.

Australia condemns journalist jailing
埃及宣判監(jiān)禁半島電視臺記者
Three Al Jazeera journalists on trial in Egypt accused of helping the Muslim Brotherhood have been jailed for seven years each. Australian Peter Greste, Mohamed Fahmy, a Canadian-Egyptian national, and Baher Mohamed who's Egyptian were sentenced on Monday. All three were convicted on charges which include helping a "terrorist organisation" by publishing lies. Baher Mohamed's been given an extra three years over alleged arms possession offences. Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop is condemning the sentence.

(SOUNDBITE)(English) AUSTRALIAN FOREIGN MINISTER JULIE BISHOP SAYING: "The Australian government is shocked at the verdict in the Peter Greste case. we are deeply dismayed by the fact that a sentence has been imposed and we are appalled by the severity of it."

The journalists denied the charges against them. Al Jazeera, whose Qatar backer supports the Muslim Brotherhood ruled a terrorist organisation by Egypt, has said the allegations are absurd. Another 11 defendants were sentenced in absentia to 10 years. Human rights groups say the case shows Egyptian authorities are trampling on freedom of expression. Egyptian officials say the two issues are unconnected.

Clashes between police and ethnic Albanian protesters erupt in Mitrovica, over the blockade of a main bridge. The violence broke out when several hundred Albanians started throwing rocks and bottles at police. They are angry over the Serbs' closure of this bridge for the past three years. Police, including special units from the EU, responded with teargas and rubber bullets. A police spokesman says 13 police officers and 10 civilians have been wounded and that five people were arrested. It's one of the worst bouts of civil unrest since Kosovo declared independence from Serbia in 2008. By Sunday evening, the situation was calm but with NATO troops, EU and Kosovo police holding their positions and guarding the bridge.
