The official ball for the 2014 World Cup was unvieled in Rio de Janeiro at a star-studded event, complete with international soccer stars and Brazilian celebrities.

There was a dazzling 3D light projection, which showed the adidas ball off in all its glory, the patterns on the ball refelct brazilain bracelet designs and the ball has a name it is the Brazuka.

Flamengo’s Hernan-ee gave his seal approval at the ceremony, We see him holding one of the balls that will be used at the World Cup in June. He wasn't the only footballer on hand.

Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf, who plays for Botafogo in Brazil and former Roma and Milan defender, Cafu, a native Brazilian were there too. All very lavish, I suppose it is just about the most important piece of equipment at the tournament.

There is some science, the "brazuca" went through a thorough testing process over two-and-a-half years and now it is ready and they have made a lot of them. They don’t want to run out.

All the teams will practice with these balls, so they get used to them, but you can be sure the goalies will use it as an excuse when they make a clanger.

"The Brazilians have always expressed an incredible energy from their fans during all the World Cups, and even during the Confederations (Cup), we’ve been able to see and feel the energy of the Brazilian fans. I think that’s going to be the big difference, besides the great qualities they have on the field during this World Cup, for the Brazilian team. I believe that the energy of the fans will be great."
