誤譯：

我們都是在空閑時候做練習的。

正譯：

我們做練習的時候都很從容。

翻譯加油站：

leisure的基本意思就是“閑暇”、“休閑”，比如leisure time就是“空閑時間”，a gentleman of leisure就指整天悠閑的“有閑紳士”。這樣看來，原譯似乎沒有錯。但是，英語中的短語往往會因 為搭配介詞的不同或限定詞的不同（用定冠詞、不定冠詞或零冠詞，用人稱代詞所有格等）而表示不同的意思；而在擔任不同的句子成分時，一個短語的意思也可能不一樣。at one's leisure是“在空閑/有空的時候”，只能用作狀語，如：

Please look through these papers at your leisure.

請在方便/有空的時候瀏覽一下這些文件。

at leisure,作表語是“有空的”、“閑著的”的意思，如

They are now of leisure as it is in the middle of the winter vacation.

他們現在正在放寒假，沒什么事。

We complain of those who are in place and authority that they are never at leisure that we may speak to them.

我們對那些有地位、有權勢的人很有意見，想同他們談談時，他們總是沒有空。

但是用作狀語時卻是“從容不迫(地)”的意思，例如:

You don’t have to read it now. You can read it at leisure when you I feel like reading.你不必現在就看，可以在想看書的時候從容地看。(這里的at leisure不可理解為“空閑的時候”。)

leisure有一個用法大家可能不太熟悉：wait somebody’s leisure,意為“等待某人有空的時候”，如：

Don't hurry. I can wait your leisure.

不用著急，我可以等到你有空的時候再說。

順便提一下不少人將“休閑服”譯為leisure clothes，大概也不能算錯，不過英語中常用sports wear指比較隨意的著裝，而不是我國的中學生校服那樣帶條紋裝飾的“運動服”，更多地類似于漢語的“休閑服”。
