我們很可能遲到。

翻譯加油站：

easy的意思是“容易的”，easily意為“容易地”好像是順理 成章的事。可是原譯者忘了上下文這一重要原則。

1、在We can win/ do it easily之類的句子里，將easily譯為“容易地”、“輕而易舉地” 等沒有問題，如：We easily identified the man.我們很容易地査明了那個人的身份。

2、在形容某個人具有的某種特點時則可譯為“輕易地”，如：She doesn’t blush easily.她輕易不臉紅。（注意詞序）

3、有時easily有“順利”的意思，如：The machine was running easily.機器運轉順利。

可是原句中的easily卻是另一個意思，這里表示說話人的一 種猜測，常和can，may—類的情態(tài)助動詞連用，意思為“多半”、 “很可能”，如：

1、The terrorist might easily have boarded the plane.那個恐怖分子很可能已經上了飛機。
