"Friends and citizens！"shouted Defarge.'We are ready！To the Bastille！'

The crowd began to move, like the waves of the sea.
人群開(kāi)始移動(dòng)，像海浪般洶涌向前。
"Follow me, women！"cried Madame Defarge.

A long sharp knife shone brightly in her hand.

"We can kill as well as any man！"

The living sea of angry people ran through Saint Antoine to the Bastille,
憤怒的人海穿過(guò)圣安東尼沖向了巴士底獄。
and soon the hated prison was ringing with the noise of battle.

Fire and smoke climbed up the high stone walls

and the thunder of the guns echoed through the city.

Then a white flag appeared above the walls and the gates were opened.

But Defarge put his strong hand on the shoulder of one of the soldiers.

"Show me the North Tower. Take me to One Hundred and Five, North Tower！Quickly！"
“指給我'北塔'，帶我去北塔105！快！”
"Follow me" said the frightened man,
“跟我來(lái)。”那個(gè)嚇壞了的家伙說(shuō)道。
and Defarge and Jacques Three went with him through the dark prison,
得法熱和雅克三隨他走過(guò)黑暗的監(jiān)獄，
past heavy closed doors, up stone stairs, until they came to a low door.
路過(guò)了沉重緊鎖的門，上了石頭臺(tái)階，來(lái)到一個(gè)低矮的門前。
It was a small room, with dark stone walls
這是一個(gè)狹小的房間，黑暗的石墻上
and only one very small window, too high for anyone to look out.
只有一個(gè)很小的窗戶，它很高，沒(méi)人能夠著它往外看。
Defarge looked carefully along the walls.
得法熱順著墻仔細(xì)地查看著。
"There, look there, Jacques Three, " he cried.

"A.M.！"whispered Jacques.

"A.M. Alexandre Manette, " said Defarge softly.

"Let us go now." But before they left, they searched the room，

and the furniture very carefully, looking for small hiding－places.

人物形象分析:
貴族中的理想人物是達(dá)爾奈。達(dá)爾奈在全書(shū)中始終是被作者用歌頌筆調(diào)來(lái)刻畫(huà)的，他處于一個(gè)罪惡累累的家庭，但他出淤泥而不染。他憎惡并且譴責(zé)自己貴族家庭的罪行，面對(duì)面向叔父侯爵說(shuō)：“我們?cè)?jīng)胡作非為”，“甚至在我父親的時(shí)代，我們就已經(jīng)犯下了許多罪惡，傷害了妨害我們享樂(lè)的每一個(gè)人。”
