Walking back from the library on his own one afternoon,

he heard somebody whimpering from a classroom up ahead. As he drew closer, he heard Quirrell's voice.
聽見有人在前面的教室里抽抽搭搭地哭泣。他走近幾步，聽出是奇洛的聲音。
No — no — not again, please ——
“不行——不行——不能再干了，求求你——”
It sounded as though someone was threatening him. Harry moved closer.
聽上去似乎有人在威脅他。哈利再走近幾步。
All right, all right, he heard Quirrell sob.
“好吧——好吧——”他聽見奇洛在抽泣。
Next second, Quirrell came hurrying out of the classroom straightening his turban.
接著，奇洛匆匆走出教室，一邊整理著他的圍巾。
He was pale and looked as though he was about to cry. He strode out of sight; Harry didn't think Quirrell had even noticed him.
他臉色蒼白，好像快要哭出聲來似的，大步地走出了哈利的視線。哈利覺得奇洛根本就沒有注意到自己。
He waited until Quirrell's footsteps had disappeared, then peered into the classroom.
他一直等到奇洛的腳步聲昕不見了，才朝教室里望去。
It was empty, but a door stood ajar at the other end.

Harry was halfway toward it before he remembered what he'd promised himself about not meddling.

Harry went back to the library, where Hermione was testing Ron on Astronomy. Harry told them what he'd heard.
