Suddenly she awoke from her dream to noise and violent movement．

Something terrible had happened．

She jumped down and discovered that the post carriage，
她從車上跳了下來，發現是一輛沿著漆黑的馬路
speeding along the dark road，had driven into her slow and unlighted wagon．
急速行駛的郵車撞上了她那輛慢吞吞、沒點燈的貨車。
Poor Prince was seriously hurt，and as she watched he fell to the ground．
可憐的“王子”傷勢嚴重，苔絲眼看著它倒在了地上。
‘You were on the wrong side，’said the post driver．
“你的車跑錯道了，”郵車車夫說道，
‘I must go on with the post，but I'll send somebody to help you as soon as I can．
“我必須繼續趕送郵件。不過，我會盡快派人來幫助你。
You'd better stay here with your wagon．’
