艾米莉·狄金森（又稱狄更生）（Emily Dickinson，1830~1886）美國傳奇詩人，她深鎖在盒子里的大量創作詩篇是她留給世人的最大禮物。在她有生之年，她的作品未能獲得青睞，然而周遭眾人對她的不解與誤會，卻絲毫無法低損她豐富的創作天分。根據統計，艾米莉驚人的創作力為世人留下1800多首詩，包括了定本的1775首與新近發現的25首。

The summer lapsed away —
